Don’t Believe Everything You See

CD 1383 Don’t Believe Everything You See

The movies may sometimes feed us information that while happens in real life, is not always the case. Take for example the movie about the social networking site Facebook where the character of Mark Zuckerberg was pertained as somebody who couldn’t get into a specific fraternity house. This apparently has led him to be bitter and even vengeful about those who belonged to this house, and who closed their doors on him. In fact, he was so rejected and so depressed over the resentment that he was inspired to come up with his own site, which eventually led to the site that we all know now called Facebook. While the results are of course epic, the intention for which the story revolved seemed to be about hatred, which was brought about by the fact that he was rejected by a frat house, which puts these frat houses in such a bad light. In reality frat houses may actually be very helpful towards one’s career and stay in college. So don’t believe everything you see in the movies, and instead try to find out for yourself. Find out why a lot of people like to wear specialty cufflinks that feature specific frat houses like the Omega Psi Phi Purple Silver Cufflinks. These people must have gotten something extremely positive about these frat houses otherwise they would not like to wear these gold cufflinks even after they graduate from the university and long after they have become full pledged professionals. So find out what it is they like most about belonging to a house before you pass judgment on these fraternities.

Different Kinds of Law Enforcement

Law enforcement has always been around since the beginning of time. Of course, the way they are implemented, the people who are members of this group will also vary in profile. The laws they enforce change over the times and adapt to their environment and society. In the past, they may carry swords and handguns and they go around in horses. They will have their Old West Badges like the Indian Police Badge and they talk differently, and they also follow specific rules and laws. Of course nowadays they don’t carry swords anymore. Instead they carry licensed guns, and handcuffs and that ever present radio which lets them communicate with other fellow policemen. They ride cars with sirens, but they still carry badges with them. In fact it is the badge that gives them the authority to enforce law. And while this badge may look like something so simple, it is actually a very important symbol of dedication, authority and commitment. This badge brings with it a huge chunk of responsibility and power. People depend on members of law enforcement and it is the badge that makes them legal. The badge is such a powerful symbol, it is the one that is respected, regardless of who is carrying it. A person, an unknown person, becomes a person of power and authority if he carries with him a badge. People automatically respect and respond to it. The badge is something that is universally respected by everyone, and that is why everyone who carries one should act with great responsibility.

Badges Have Powers

Badges have the power to make people respond a little differently, a little more cooperatively. It makes people act in a manner that is much different than when they are talking to someone who is just an ordinary civilian. Somehow badges open doors, makes people tell things they will not otherwise squeal, and will give out information they would rather really keep. That is the power of the badge, and it also carries with it such great responsibility. People look up at badges as something that means law enforcement. Anyone who carries a badge is looked up as someone who can be trusted, who can be counted upon in times of troubles. Because of this dual effect badges is something that should be taken seriously. It should not be used for jokes or pranks. Just like swords, only those who are competent, and not only competent, but also legally authorized, to use them should actually use them. You can get Old West Badges like the Arizona Rangers Badge if you want to, but it doesn’t mean you should use it to play around with, or scare people into submission with. It also does not make you a member of the law enforcement. Some people sometimes go to extremes when they are playing roles and they sometimes cannot define what is real and what is make believe. You should always be conscious because using badges will have great consequences, many of which will be avoided if you are only always aware of your limits.

When you host parties in your home, you usually strive for the elegant, classy look. Or one that is cozy which will relax all your guests and bring them to a mode of relaxation. After all, parties are usually done because friends want to have some good time over a good meal. And so you bring out your best china, set out to cook food that not only looks good, tastes good but smells good, too. You decorate your home with flowers, put on some jazz or some soothing music to bring out that relaxing mood. Now when it’s a Halloween party, the opposite is just what you need. You don’t beautify your home, instead you aim for it to be scary. So instead of flowers you may want to decorate it with swords or other masks you may have. Instead of bringing out your fine china and your sparkling crystal wine glasses you may want to bring out your gothic wine goblets like the Fairy of the Lake. Instead of serving crystal clear champagne you may want to serve red wine because it looks more like blood. Instead of your usual steaks and salads, look for recipes that will look like blood, innards, intestines. And most of all, instead of playing some jazz or soft rhythm and blues, get the creepy soundtracks on. Because that’s the unique characteristic of Halloween – it means to scare. And you cannot do that when you have a home that is so cozy and warm and relaxing. So just be inventive and you will surely have a truly successful Halloween party.

A Fun Dinner Party

People always like excuses to get together. They get together to celebrate some important milestone or achievement, like a promotion at work, or finishing a difficult task, or graduating from a specific portion of one’s life. They get together so as to celebrate the precious gift of life, of love, of friendship and camaraderie. Whenever this happens, the host will oftentimes be the one who is most tired, or the one who spent the most, or the one who will clean up after everyone has left. Ironically, the host will also be the happiest, the most thankful for guests who spent time with them, and the one who is most willing to do everything for the success of the party. That’s because all the efforts and hard work are worth it, because there is something they want to celebrate about. Then there are times when some occasions just call for a get-together. Halloween is one of those times when there is really no reason to celebrate, but it is a great excuse to get together and have a party anyway so people happily welcome and embrace it. More than that, Halloween gives people excuse to use their gothic wine goblets, decorate their homes with swords and other unique decoration that will not be appropriate for the rest of the year. That is one more reason to embrace the Halloween season. Not only do people get to dress up in weird costumes, they also get to drink wine from a Poison Chalice. Now that is a good enough excuse.

Choosing the Right Sword Stand

Posted by: Dungeon Knight   in General Stuff

If you think that sword stands are something you can do without, you are sadly mistaken. Your swords can only be properly held and displayed by the right sword stand. It is important for you to determine the right sword stand that will be able to display and store your swords. Do not try to fit two swords in a sword stand that is only meant to hold a solitary sword because you will end up damaging both your swords from the scratches if the two swords will continue to rub each other. Instead, choose one that can hold two or more swords so that you have enough room for when you get more swords. If you choose well, you can even enhance the look of your sword by choosing the right sword stand for your swords. There are many different designs, shapes and colors that can even enhance the look of your swords. Like the Brown Hardwood Universal Sword Plaque, for example. The dark color of this panel will nicely contrast the shine of the metal of your sword. It will surely add to the mystery of your sword when you hang it in a place of honor in your living room or den. More importantly, it gives the right emphasis to your weapon, it gives it the air of importance it so deserves since you spent considerable time and effort in pursuing that particular piece of sword. The right sword stand can make or break your sword so make sure to choose rightly.

When you bought the swords that make up your sword collection, you have invested more than the money you paid for it. Of course, the money is relevant since that is some precious money you could have spent on something else like a good set of clothes, or a good pair of shoes, or even a little jewelry. The point is, you have chosen to spend your money not on anything else but on that particular sword. And more than that, you have devoted your time and effort in looking for that particular sword and pursuing it. So that is why you have spent more than money in that particular weapon. If it comes with a little story or history which is relevant to you, then all the more that it becomes very valuable. So, it is only right that you get the right sword stands to hold your swords in. Aside from providing enough room for your swords, these sword stands also function as a display stand for you to put your swords in. You just need to know what kind of stand you require and you can get the right one you need. You can choose from many different available designs. If you have just one sword, you can get a wall-mounted type of sword stand which only displays one sword or if you have two you can get the Double Display Stand which you don’t have to mount on a wall but instead stands upright in the room of your choice.
