Swords of History

thumbnail 44%20CS88S12598177114b174aefbba79 Swords of HistorySwords are cherished both for their design and beauty and their historical context.  We epitomize them in our stories, films, and even to some degree music.  They speak of a different time when men could singularly be heroes through their own brawn and skill on the battlefields, castles, and country-sides.  Things seemed simpler then.  Death perhaps didn’t seem so random, where as in today’s modern combat even the best trained soldiers can fall despite their skill and valor.  Swords have representation in virtually every major culture in the world, from Japan and their excellent and dangerously sharp katana, to Scotland and their mighty claymores.  There is a great demand to possess such weapons and fantasy swords of our popular imagination.  A great example of one such blade is the Cold Steel 1796 Light Cavalry Saber Sword.  Used by the British Army and other forces throughout the Napoleonic Wars, this weapon was highly prized because of its effectiveness in battle.  A dragoon could expect to kill in one good stroke as he passed by his target, and could easily slice or stab as he saw fit.  It was curved to allow maximum slicing damage to the target with little return resistance that might cause the wielder to drop it unintentionally.  At 33 inches of carbon stainless-steel this beautiful weapon comes complete with a period-style leather and wooden scabbard.  One of the last real swords used by western militaries until the advent of the Great War before the final end of the horse-bound cavalry, this cavalry saber is a must for anyone who appreciates, collects and displays these beautiful weapons.

Go Bump In the Night

Posted by: Dungeon Knight   in General Stuff

thumbnail dk nightAW112598176804b174ad075936 Go Bump In the NightThe term “gothic” conjures to mind something medieval.  Principally it refers to a style of iconic architecture that emphasizes tall, sweeping structures, sharp points, and dramatic statues such as gargoyles.  This style conjures sinister feelings associated with the likes of old vampire legends and macabre stories of ruthless torturers, cruel jailers, and silent, mist laden crypts made famous by such yarns as Bram Stoker’s Dracula and Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein.  The latest gothic references draw heavily from the last one-hundred years of pop culture that emphasizes the chilling horror motif with their eccentric shapes and ghastly symbols of dread and death.  Once thought to be the main province of angst-filled teens looking for something to identify with, now has become a hip cultural phenomenon in many respects.  Gothic jewelry is a bold fashion statement now and isn’t for the grim and dour anymore.  The Cruella Wristwatch is a fine example of gothic beauty and design in a stylish timepiece.  Adorned with silver skulls and blood red crystals linking the classic clock face with roman numerals by means of a dark black cord, this exquisite piece is a must for anyone who enjoys the occasional macabre vibe.  You can buy other assorted gothic jewelry and other items of interest that is sure to be capture the attention of even the most apathetic goth-punk at Dungeon Knight, where you can also buy swords, armor, and other items that’ll suit your interests.  You can be the one that goes bump in the night in more ways than one with your own gothic motif supplied by Dungeon Knight.

Ladies Love the Movie “300”

Posted by: Dungeon Knight   in Movie Replicas

thumbnail dknight 88101212598177244b174afc1d6be Ladies Love the Movie “300”The men of Sparta, portrayed so well in the movie “300”, have earned renewed respect an regard from people around the world. In order to face an enemy that out numbered them tens of thousands to one; they left the comfort of their homes, the arms of their wives and marched off to battle to face an enemy bent on the destruction of their way of life. The movie mainly displays the outright courage of the men, but their women are seen in a brighter light as well. These women were warriors in their own right, and they had the mentality to back it up. They were the defenders of their own honor and homes when their men went to war. They were ready to hale the conquering hero’s or bury them when they returned from battle with, or on their mighty shields. Queen Gorgo, portrayed so well by Lena Headley in the movie, was ready to face down the entire Council of elders for her belief in what her husband was doing, and she was ready to kill for her honor and his when needed. Spartan women were warriors, but they were wives, lovers, and mothers as well. They could be tender when needed, and were strict disciplinarians for their children, there was no weakness allowed in their makeup and it was certainly never displayed in public. The Spartan woman was the backbone of a nation, and she deserves the honor she receives. You can show your love for the movie and your admiration for their bravery in real life by wearing a 300 Round Brooch; that is located in  our 300 movie replicas sold by Dungeonknight.com. This as well as numerous other movie memorabilia is available online for your viewing pleasure.

Costumes of the “300”

Posted by: Dungeon Knight   in Movie Replicas

thumbnail dknight 88100712598177244b174afc040ad Costumes of the “300”Oh those magnificent six pack abs, and rippling leg muscles! For many women the costumes worn by the actor’s portrayals of the Spartan King Leonidas, and his mighty warriors in the movie “300” were worth every bit of blood and gore they had to sit through during the movie. If all men looked like that during battle, more women would go to watch them to fight.  Then again if all men looked like that there would be fewer battles, because they would be too busy at home. Those bright red briefs they wore represented the color favored by Spartans; they were put to magnificent use by the costume department. They are actually not a true representation of Spartan battle wear, since the Spartans fought in the nude. Since the censors were not going to allow that, they had to come up with an appropriate costume that would still allow the highly toned body’s of the warriors to be shown. The briefs worked out very well in that case. For men the rippling bodies of muscle were simply seen as the way a warrior should look in hand to hand combat that lasted for days at a time. Perhaps it even inspired a few to go back to the gym for some added sculpting of their own.  In the 300 movie replicas  collection from Dungeonknight.com, you can order a pair of these 300 Briefs; and see just how well you stack up against King Leonidas and his mighty “300” warriors.  You might be surprised at how well you pull it off.

Shields of Sparta

Posted by: Dungeon Knight   in General Stuff

thumbnail dknight 88100412598177234b174afbea844 Shields of Sparta

“Come Back With Your Shield OR On IT”! The traditional farewell for Spartan Armies from their wives and Mothers, says a lot about the mentality of these people; and the real respect they held for this mighty shield. For it was not only used for defense, each shield was personal to the warrior who held it; marked with not only his personal standard, each nick and mark upon it counted as an enemy defeated in battle. It was designed to allow freedom of movement and was used as a weapon Justas his sword and spear were used.  The movie “300” did a remarkable job of showing just how the shields were actually used. The weapons masters for the movie company designed each shield from an actual original design for a Spartan shield.  The way King Leonidas and his 300 warriors placed themselves in battle formation was also a design based on actual battle formations used in the battles between Spartans and their enemies.  These warriors lived by the code of ‘never back down-and never give up’. They are to be admired for the ability they had in battles to defeat far larger forces and keep their homelands safe for centuries.  We are extremely happy to have available in our 300 movie replicas line exact replicas of the 300 Spartan Shield, used in the movie. We also carry a line of weapons like the swords that were present in every battle scene. Visit our online collection today, and add these wonderful replicas to your growing collection of movie memorabilia.

The Immortal 300

Posted by: Dungeon Knight   in General Stuff

thumbnail dknight 88100312598177234b174afbe61fa The Immortal 300

The movie “300” may have been theatrical but it is based on a true legend of a man King Leonidas of Sparta. With a small army of his personal guard he met and defended his homeland against the very real enemy the Persian King, Xeres in 480BC in the Battle of Thermopylae.  The battle raged for three long days and in the end the 300 and their mighty King Leonidas, were all dead. Their deaths did not quite have the effect Xeres had hoped for; instead of being humiliated the remaining Spartans and the Greek City States, were inspired to meet him again in battle and defeat him. The movie itself was portrayed rather well by the actors and actresses in the key roles. The fight scenes and special effects are marvelous, and leave you with a real feeling that emulating such people is not a bad thing. Their bravery under horrible conditions is admirable for a number of reasons. The way they used their body’s as well honed weapons was fantastic. Place a sword in those hands and the enemy was bound to suffer great losses.  People admire heroes and their bravery, and there are no better hero’s than the Spartan warriors and their King. The movie has generated a great deal of interest in the Spartans history and their way of fighting. We are proud to offer in our 300 movie replicas line a wonderful selection of “300” movie memorabilia. You can choose from the King Leonidas Helmet, or choose from a variety of weapons. These replicas of Spartan swords are marvelous; any movie buff would be pleased with this collection.

Rich People Always Do Good

Posted by: Dungeon Knight   in General Stuff

thumbnail dknight 88500312598177234b174afbc6e2e Rich People Always Do Good

Rich people are often misconceived as being soulless people who only care for themselves and their paychecks. Well people who think this couldn’t be more wrong. Rich people donate billions of dollars each year to charity. For example Bill Gates gave over 2 billion dollars to charity last year which is more than most of the multinational companies in America put together. This sort of giving is essential to charitable causes, who will all tell you that rich people are some of the kindest, most generous people on this planet. A fictional example of wealthy benevolence is Tony Stark from the movie Iron Man. He gave money to his community and helped to protect them when he became Iron Man. This kindness is often never repaid to the rich people which are a great shame. If you enjoyed the film Iron Man and would like some Iron Man movie replicas then you should act quickly. The Iron Man Helmet Silver is very popular with new fans and diehards alike and if you want one you should get a move one. Another popular movie replica prop are movie swords. These are just like the swords used in films are help to provide exciting re-enactments for everyone to enjoy. So remember, not all rich people are awful. Many of them help people and charities to survive and if you become rich, you should also remember to act in a benevolent way to help those less fortunate than yourself, even if they don’t repay you.

Iron Man Is Really Hot at the Moment

Posted by: Dungeon Knight   in General Stuff

mark2thumb12598177234b174afbd410b Iron Man Is Really Hot at the Moment

The Iron Man movie was immensely successful, however due to it being released at the same time as the mega blockbuster Avatar; it lost out some of its fans to the hype which surrounded Avatar. The part of Tony Stark an elite millionaire was perfectly casted to Robert Downey Junior, who played the part with the air of an eclectic millionaire himself and dark superhero at the same time. This casting will go down in history and will certainly earn Mr. Downey lots of money in the future. Many people choose to relive the amazing nature of the film by buying super realistic movie replicas from the film. Iron Man movie replicas are all the rage at the moment and buying some will be sure to mark you out as a die hard fan and earn you respect amongst your movie loving buddies. This realistic helmet will give you the edge when re-enacting scenes from the film and will make you the envy of all Iron Man fans worldwide. Be sure to act quickly as movie replicas can sell out very quickly once people begin to hear about them. I remember trying to buy some from the original Iron Man film but was disappointed when I found out that they were all sold out. So act now and make sure that it you want some quality Iron Man replicas you buy them immediately so that you don’t suffer the disappointment which I had.

Iron Man the Hero Who Rejects Convention

Posted by: Dungeon Knight   in General Stuff

thumbnail dknight 88503212598177234b174afbd8756 Iron Man the Hero Who Rejects ConventionIt would correct to say that Iron Man is an unconventional hero. For a start he makes no effort to keep his identity secret and appears to relish all the extra publicity that goes with his hyped up image. Also, unusually his sidekick is a woman not a man. Nearly every other superhero has a male sidekick to help them out however Iron Man has Ms. Potts at his beck and call. Apart from these breaks in convention, Iron Man is really just like every other superhero in that he loves his job, hates evil and would do anything to protect those at risk. He does this with an effortless charm which helps him to endear himself to audiences and people in the actual film itself. One of the best ways to show your love for a particular movie franchise is to get some replica merchandise from that film to show off to all your movie buddies. They look just like the props from the real film and are easily good enough to convince people that you have a real prop from a film. Iron Man movie replicas can be easily purchased over the internet or in shops in major cities. One such replica you can buy from the film Iron Man is the Iron Man the Movie Mark 03 the Helmet. This helmet is an exact replica of the helmet worn in the film and coupled up with some movie swords will allow you to have realistic battles with your buddies. Don’t delay and get yourself some realistic movie merchandise today.
