Try Fencing

Have you ever tried fencing? There is a certain excitement in donning on all those padded suits, putting on the masks, and finally holding the Fencing Rapiers and bowing to your opponent before finally battling it out. Other people may consider fencing a bit too formal, a bit too staged and scripted, but the actions are necessary for safety. In any sports, of course, safety is always the priority, it would not do good to harm any of the players and therefore it is always a priority. After all, swords are swords, and they will always have the ability to cut and to maim anyone. This is also the reason why the suit used for fencing is adequately padded, so as to protect the player even when they are wielding a Cup Hilt Rapier against each other. Sports always bring out the best in any man and therefore you should try it every once in a while. You should also engage your kids in sports. If you are not yet comfortable getting him into fencing, then you should start him out in another sport, for now. You may be more comfortable with a less dangerous sport. But actually, fencing may even teach your kid to be more careful and more conscious about weapons. They will be educated early on about being careful about the things that are in their hands, because it can cause harm to another people. In the end, it’s up to you. But just make sure that you engage yourself and your kids in sports.

What Do Pirates Do?

Posted by: Dungeon Knight   in General Stuff

thumbnail 30 35312598177014b174ae54f944 What Do Pirates Do?

That is actually a good question: what do pirates do? All the movies we have watched about them seem to depict them as people who do not conform to the norms of the society. Whereas people are expected to earn a living by being employed, pirates always seem to be on the go, yet they never seem to care about time. They look like they are always on the lookout for what they can steal, but in reality they are industrious people who are not afraid to work their backs off for what they will earn. They are only after treasures, those that are buried, or have been left behind by people, and therefore considered free for all. They of course do not own cars so they don’t have to work, nor do they have mortgages that they need to pay. Obviously, they are interested in gold and jewelry, but not those that can be found on display windows in some department stores. They are only interested in jewelry that they have acquired as a result of their treasure-hunting skills. So don’t think about giving them some Pirate Gifts because they may not totally appreciate it. They would rather get a Fake Chain as long as it came from some treasure lost at sea. Their swords and compasses are just about everything they need. They do not fear anything that will come their way. They are free spirited, liberated and they just enjoy life to the fullest. Maybe that’s what pirates are doing all along – enjoying life and all it has to offer.

Pirates Like Gifts, Too

Posted by: Dungeon Knight   in General Stuff

Pirates are sometimes misinterpreted maybe because not a lot of people know them and maybe because not a lot of people have had the chance to interact with a real pirate. Of course, pirates prefer to be on the sea rather than on land. They have a different sense of liberty when they are on a ship and sailing. For pirates, the most important thing in life is to be the captain of your own ship, figuratively, yes, but more so literally. And that is why a 4” Gimbaled Nautical Compass is very important to them. That is all they need, along with their swords. It will tell them the right direction they need to follow, the route they need to take. Pirates, of course, are always on the lookout for treasures, and that is what they occupy their days with. But if you think about it, it might just be a tool to do what they want to do most, and that is sail without end. Maybe the treasures are just an excuse to be ever on the go, because they always have to chase the treasure. Think about it. How much money do pirates need anyway? They don’t live lavishly, in fact they live so prudently. They do not spend like ordinary human beings, they don’t send their kids to school, they don’t buy any gadgets, they do not pay a mortgage and they don’t own cars. Whatever they do, they still want to get Pirate Gifts every now and then.

The Black Ninja

Ninjas are somewhat mystical characters, nobody seems to know exactly where they are, what they do during the times when they are not fighting. They just seem to appear in the most appropriate times, when there is someone in danger or when there is someone trying to harm the city they live in. And after the fight, they always miraculously disappear, to nowhere no one knows. No one knows if they hold a day job, if they even eat during the day, if they brush their teeth like ordinary human beings. Do they also enjoy watching movies during the weekends, or a coffee or tea session with friends? Or are they always on the ready, sensing and waiting if there is harm coming nearby? And how about their clothes, do they always wear the black ninja outfit even when they go to sleep? How can they dress so quickly, then? Are their swords with them all the time? How are they able to respond so quickly when they are needed? That is the mystery of ninjas and they will forever fascinate the whole world. Kids want to be like them and adults are very much interested in them. No wonder all ninja movies have always been successful at the box office. People love to see these ninja moves, when they scale walls effortlessly and run through tall bamboo trees like the wind. They love to own Chinese Ninja Swords particularly the elitist Black Ninja Sword. Until the time we know more about these ninjas, we will all continue to be fascinated with them.

Lovin’ the Pirate Life

Posted by: Dungeon Knight   in General Stuff

Pirates are such enigmatic creatures, no one can ignore them. Kids want to be like them, while adults are ever intrigued by them. Although some people would claim to be uninterested, the reality of it is that pirates are such mysterious people that everyone wants to know more about them. Even when they claim to want nothing to do with these pirates, people are intrigued about their every move. They act the way they want to, they dress the way they are comfortable in, without minding what other people think about them. Although they are seen as looters who are always on the lookout for riches and wealth, they actually do not care about getting rich. All they care about is to get enough for their needs. In fact, if they get so much they share it with their fellow pirates. Pirates are also perhaps the most misunderstood creatures. Just because they carry swords does not mean they are dangerous. In fact, they carry pirate swords so they can protect themselves from anyone who likes to push them around. They may carry a Pirate Cutlass Without Scabbard but that doesn’t mean they will use it to frighten innocent people, or to take the necklace off someone’s neck. Pirates sort of live a dangerous life as they usually stay at sea. This means that they need a certain level of protection to keep them from harm, and that is why they carry pirate swords. They do not use these swords to be aggressive, they only need it to be defensive.

Live Like a Pirate

pirat3 Live Like a Pirate

What do you call somebody who doesn’t seem to live like anyone else, who doesn’t seem to be interested with other people, and who doesn’t seem to care what other people think? Pirates, that’s what. Maybe this is due to kids’ wild imagination, or maybe because of the influence of the movies to the present generation, but the term “pirate” is so loosely applied to someone who is not completely understood or is not very transparent and open about his life. In reality pirates are very intelligent people, who carry swords as a weapon against any enemy that will attach them, human or otherwise. But they are not fierce creatures, they do not use their pirate swords loosely. They only use their Pirate Cutlass with Silver Finish and Scabbard when they are in danger, when someone or something is threatening them.  They do not harm just because they want to harm someone, no matter what the urban legends say. There are always stories surrounding pirates, a lot of them will be make believe. That is because a lot of people want to know more about them, and when they do not provide people with details about their lives, people just invent stories about them, some are larger than life, and some are unfairly untrue. But even then, they will not lift a finger to correct it, because that’s exactly how they want things to be. They want to be left out and they don’t care what other people think of them.

Follow the Pirate’s Lead

While a lot of people consider pirates as people who should be shunned from, as outcasts of society, in reality there might be lessons to learned from pirates. Some people feel that these pirates are no good, that they are bums who hang around all day brandishing their pirate swords without working a decent work in their lives. What they do not know is that these pirates, while they hold on to their swords, are not harmful creatures. They are very focused and empowered people who are not enslaved by material things and riches. They only care about enjoying the day and they go about life one day at a time, literally. They do not plan, they may not even know anything about insurance, yet surprisingly they do not need it as often since they do not get sick as much as other people. They seem to be content brandishing about their Pirate Sword with hard Wood Scabbard and Engraving Detail. They are happy to be at sea, and they do not crave for the usual luxuries of life. As long as they are fed, then they are content. They do not yearn for more than what they need. Maybe pirates have actually figured out the secret to happiness in life, and that is to be satisfied with what you have, and to get only enough for what you need. Pirates are never excessive, they do not want a lot and therefore they are not frustrated when they get little. Maybe this is what everyone should follow, the way of the pirate.

Pirates Have Figured it Out

Posted by: Dungeon Knight   in General Stuff

pirate2 Pirates Have Figured it Out

Why do pirates seem like they have a much happier life than the most of us. Think about it real hard and you will see what this means. Take a look at the Wall Street Guy who seems to run from one appointment to another, who earns so much that he is able to afford to live in utmost luxury. He who is at the phone all the time, and who cannot seem to have enough time to do the silly things that may be considered unproductive like watching a cartoon show with his child. On the other hand, there is the pirate, who does not have a lot of money, in fact he can barely afford to change his pirate swords into something new. He will stick with his Pirate Cutlass with Brass Finish and Scabbard until it gets really broken, only then will he change swords. They do not have a lavish abode, yet they seem to be very happy and act as if they own the world. They do not have a lot of wealth, yet they can do whatever they like to do at every single time. If they do not want to work, then they do not. Maybe, just maybe, in the greater scheme of things, pirates have it figured out better than the rest of mankind. They know that the most important thing is to be able to enjoy life to the fullest, never mind if they do so in a not so fashionable fashion. They have their own definition of luxury, and it does not involve high-priced stuff. They just know that life is short, and that time should be spent doing things you love to do.

Unusual Beauty

Posted by: Dungeon Knight   in General Stuff

thumbnail dk nightAAG2212598176844b174ad4b5320 Unusual Beauty

Beauty is a universal concept although it differs in definition from place to place, from time to time and from culture to culture. For example, in many countries, being slender or thin is the best way to be attractive yet in other countries women who are not fat will be considered unattractive. Similarly, a lot of women in some countries pay an arm and a leg to get their skins to lighten or whiten yet in other countries they pay double just to get that tan. The same difference can be experienced when it comes to hair. A lot of women have since birth ironed their hairs to take out all the curls, then they pay hard earned top dollar just to get weaves of straight hair. Ironically, a lot of women do the same, only to curl their naturally straight hair. Such is the case with beauty and this is true in many other cases. Take for example one of the most exquisite Gothic wine goblets, the Angels of Enoch Chalice. Some people will probably look at this and not even pay attention but many will be very happy to own this and bring it home. Many will lust after this goblet’s intricate design and its majestic air. Another example is how people choose to decorate their homes. Some want swords hung on their walls while others will never think of putting a bladed weapon in display. That’s how beauty is and always will be. There will be no one set of standards, as long as people have different personalities there will be many definitions of beauty.

Have a Gothic-Themed Wedding

Posted by: Dungeon Knight   in General Stuff

Weddings are such special occasions and that is why everybody gives out extra effort to make that day very special in every aspect. From the preparation that takes months, even years before the actual wedding day, to the day itself, to the reception afterwards, everything is planned and coordinated so that everyone will have a good time celebrating love and the union of the couple. Each wedding is the couple’s own, meaning, it does not need to follow any rules but theirs. They don’t need to follow traditions, guidelines and do’s and don’t’s unless they want to. The theme will be unique to them, even when there are others who have had the same thing. A gothic inspired wedding is certainly a very unique one. And the reception will be something to look forward to. Instead of flowers, swords and chains will litter the room, and instead of the usual champagne on goblets for toasting the happy couple, Gothic wine goblets like the Garden of Eden Intimity Glass will be used. Now that is certainly a vision that will not be forgotten easily by anyone who attends that wedding. People will similarly be dressed in black and dark colors instead of the usual gay colors. That doesn’t mean, though, that it is not a celebration. Because weddings are primarily invented to really celebrate the wonderful union of two people who love each other. And it doesn’t matter if they conform to tradition, or they prefer to be Goth. Love is a universal language that is understood by all.
