The Elite Rangers
![]()
Those who wear an Arizona Rangers Badge, the real one that carries with it the force of the law, not some replica Old West Badges, are actually members of a very elite law enforcement group in the past. They were formed through a legislature that was passed in the state of Arizona and vested upon powers of apprehension and abating outlaws. They may not carry swords but they will carry with them some form of weapon to be used solely for enforcing the law. They are highly trained, very much competent and to become a Ranger was always an honor for anyone. It was a dream for many, and an honor for all. Of course, over the years they may have changed in scope and list of responsibilities, but Rangers still remain to be a well respected group of law enforcers. Nowadays Rangers are volunteers, performing tasks under supervision and guidance of police officers and other law enforcement agencies. They work solely out of their sense of duty, and they are completely unpaid. They act like an extended arm of the law, and they can be called upon to perform tasks related to law enforcement. This indicates a very high sense of patriotism. To put your life at risk in order that the public can be safe is always commendable, more so if you do it purely as volunteer work. In this sense Rangers continue to be elite people whose intention is to uphold the letter of the law, and to perform whatever they can to help reach this goal.
