Fiercest Spear on Earth

Posted by: Dungeon Knight Tags: , ,

thumbnail 44%20CS95SD12598177114b174aefae3b7 Fiercest Spear on EarthWeapons experts and anthropologists consider the Cold Steel Samburu Spear as the fiercest and most powerful spear in all continents. It has been used by the Samburu tribe of Kenya since time immemorial. The Samburu tribe is found in the northern end of Kenya and you don’t get to enter their turf without subjecting yourself to one of these, not always in a gruesome sense, however.

The Cold Steel Samburu Spear can easily go side by side with your fantasy swords collection though it does not qualify for something “fantastic” or even as one of the many types of swords. However, the fact that no one knows exactly how the Samburu tribe is able to produce such a powerful weapon with the little technology they have is just a fantasy to modern-day weapons and swords designers.

You can never throw any other spear existing in the planet as accurate and as fast as the Samburu Spear would. It is clearly the deadliest of its kind. One blow can lead to a sudden and yet piercing death. It penetrates a man’s flesh like no other weapon can. It could even kill someone faster than a bullet could.

The Cold Steel Samburu Spear is a replica that weighs 2 pounds and measures 7 feet in total length. It features a short spear blade attached to the tip of this slender shaft. It was designed to kill anyone in the fastest way possible. The specific dimensions of the material allow it to create minimum force of friction in order for it take advantage of the spear’s weight and velocity.

thumbnail 44%20CS88S12598177114b174aefbba79 British 18th Century SwordOne of the familiar swords that date back to 1796 Britain, the Cold Steel 1796 Light Cavalry Saber Sword has now found its way in weapons collector’s living room for quite some time now. It is not practical to use the sword in battle, now do they? They are now merely considered as fantasy swords in which people like us derive amusement from.

The Cold Steel 1796 Light Cavalry Saber Sword is a cross between the Indian tulwar and the Hungarian szabla. It is easy to understand why since both nationalities have had something to do with Britain prior to 18th century. It just so happened that the Cold Steel 1796 Light Cavalry Saber Sword has gained more global attention than the other two swords whence it was derived from.

Besides, it is quite difficult to find an authentic piece of either the Indian tulwar or the Hungarian szable because, chances are, those can only be found in museums. Replicas, however, are as scarce as the original ones so collectors would really have to settle with a—sort of—hybrid of the two swords.

The Cold Steel 1796 Light Cavalry Saber Sword was first used by the British Army. It was then introduced to their allies from Hanover and then by Blucher of the Prussians. In fact, the name “Blucher” has often been associated with the sword. If you find it popular among American, that’s because later on, the sword has also been adapted by the United States Army.

Such an interesting history, these swords have. But what good would it do for collectors? Well, let’s say that the more interesting the story is, the pricier you can have it for auction.

Fantasy Swords that Kick Ass

Posted by: Dungeon Knight Tags: , ,

thumbnail 43%20UC119312598177124b174af03da1a Fantasy Swords that Kick AssThe greatest thing about the film “Heavy Metal FAKK,” if there is any, are the props that were used by such strong characters such as the main protagonist, Julie. The Heavy Metal FAKK Sword was used by her to avenge the mysterious murder of her family.

Fantasy swords such as the Heavy Metal FAKK Sword may be a work of fiction but it is not difficult to imagine the same swords in real life. These one of a kind work of artisan prowess is proof to the hundred year’s devotion of weapons designers and craftsmen to perfect the craft.

This particular reproduction may not be one you can use for the same purpose of the one you see in the movies but it surely defines what collectors and avid film buff looks forward to in a high budgeted movie.

Measuring 33 3/16 inches in total length, the Heavy Metal FAKK Sword features an 18-inch blade crafted of 420 stainless steels. The rear edge is accented by cutout patterns, deep blood groove, and a serration right on the front edge. The design of the Heavy Metal FAKK Sword makes it a weapon that you don’t expect to be seen being held by a woman like Julie. And really, that amusing detail is what the movie is all about.

Consider this an addition to your burgeoning weapons collection or just something you get to pay homage to the film that has changed your views about women. Because that’s the only way you can save yourself from the humiliation.

elopener12598176984b174ae25f035 Remembering the Story of the Castiglian KnightMedieval intrigue and romance surround the Spanish Knight, El Cid. For those who were able to watch the movie in the 1960s, Charles Heston and Sophia Lauren render a stunning and memorable performance in the film depicting the story of this intriguing knight.

It has become common these days that the release of an expected hit movie is always accompanies by memorabilia such as shirts and replicas of popular characters in the movie. Back in the 1960s, however, items such as these were not so readily available for sale. It would have been interesting to be able to buy replica swords for kids’ play or endow your friends with medieval gifts over the holidays. Alas, technology was neither so versatile nor low cost in those days.

The evolving marketing industry, however, has continued to improve its ideas and find the resources to put their ideas to life. Innovations have made available new items much in demand since the old days. In fact, an El Cid Letter Opener with Gold Finish is already being sold online. The item itself may be a bit conspicuous but at least it is useful and suits the demographic of the movie’s current fan base. Sophia Lauren fans will be excited to own such a classy memorabilia, which they can continue to keep nearby and actually use on a daily basis.

In the study or by the mail tray, this is something that begs to be seen. The joy in collecting these memorabilia is in being able to tell the item’s stories or invoke the happy memories attached to it. Share the story of the Castiglian knight with your children and your children’s children!

thumbnail 06 1912598177064b174aea33fc6 Pirate Swords Will Spark Anybody’s InterestThe first Pirates of the Carribean movie was a great hit. The sequels were equally so. Clearly, this is a sign that many people in the modern world still hold a fascination for these scraggly, sometimes evil, but always exciting and entertaining characters. What child would not be eager to hold a mock fight with the shorter pirate swords?

Pirate’s swords are usually shorter than knights’ since fighting is usually done at close range when the pirates board the ship they wish to conquer. Handling this weapon while trying to veer away from an opponent’s deadly stab involves a lot of skill. While young boys can play with toy swords, the ones available online at Dungeon Knight and other similar websites are not exactly safe for kids to handle. These are collectible items that are replicas of the real thing and can be equally fatal when used. The Pirate Cutlass with Scabbard is a typical pirate sword – short and curved and a force to reckon with at close range.

Authentic replicas such as these are popular collectors’ items. You can count on something this unique and conspicuous to become a conversation piece at parties held in your living room. Who has not watched a pirate movie or two? Who does not know of Peter Pan? Few have the opportunity to come close to almost the real thing.

More than that, however, they bring to fore avid interest in online pirate strategy games with hopefully no casualties but, rather, a loud buzz of conversation. Impress people with similar interests or tell your stories with a real prop. Either way, this unique and interesting piece will surely bring life to the party.

The Blindman’s Blade

   Posted by: Dungeon Knight

thumbnail 00 7X11312598177384b174b0a47ef2 The Blindmans BladeBack in ancient Japan, there were hired blade masters that assassinated political figures on the beckon of their masters. Rarely do these warriors betray their allegiances and when carrying out a mission they carry it with honor. If you’re familiar with ninjas, assassins and ronins, then I’m sure you’ve heard of Zatoichi, the legendary swordsman.

Zatoichi is a seemingly blind harmless masseuse who loves to gamble. Unfortunately, not everyone knows that he is also skilled with a sword and have found out too late when Zatoichi’s Cane Sword has already sliced through their flesh. Cane Swords, or otherwise known as Shikomizue, are inferior to a katana in that its blade is of lower quality. However as seen in Zatoichi, he is skilled enough to overcome this wall and produce a blade finer than any sharp katana.

You can now own the Shikomizue with this awesome Handmade Black Zatoichi Sword – 42 inches. These handmade swords are as functional as they are for display. They feature beautiful carbon steel blades and grooves on the side of the handles for blade orientation. And exactly as portrayed in the movie, great pains were made in order for these swords to be exactly like their movie counterpart. They come with Cane scabbards so you can disguise your blades without anyone knowing. Upon purchase, other items include a custom wooden sword box and cloth sword bag.

Unless you are Zatoichi, we wouldn’t be advising you to swing this around when surrounded by company. You don’t want slicing anyone up accidentally.

It’s a Pirate Thing

   Posted by: Dungeon Knight

thumbnail 22 412712598177064b174aea22a8a Its a Pirate ThingShips were often attacked back in the day. Now don’t let your imagination run free, there are no monsters. These weren’t what you’d call monsters, but rather they were as real, as you and me. They were called pirates. And if you must picture what a pirate looks like, think Pirates of the Caribbean not Spongebob. These buccaneers roamed the Seven Seas wielding swords, where ever that is, and have terrorized countless merchant ships.

Plundering whatever comes across their path, the pirate life is by no means an easy living, despite what romanticists would say. Sure you could sail the open seas, drink as much rum as you can find, bury treasure, venture on quests based on treasure maps, grab any wench or lass within your reach, or sword fight as if one hand was a hook, but there were tradeoffs. Hunted by the law, scurvy, the never ending sea voyage are just some of the risks one has to gamble with when one is a pirate. Well, thank the heavens because this is the 21st century.

Pirates are long gone, but you can still be the pirate you want to be by owning pirate swords like this French Boarding Cutlass with Scabbard replica. Featuring a curved blade, beautiful molded brass handle and a matching leather scabbard, you’ll be going “yargh” in no time.

Despite it being a replica, the blade is as sharp as any real knife therefore caution and carefulness is advised. Of course, a ship, a pirate crew, a parrot and some treasure aren’t included. Those are sold separately.

thumbnail 46%20CS88BCK12598177094b174aedadf23 The Way of the Sword CollectorLong ago in ancient Japan, feudal lords battled one another for territory. These men command thousands of infantry troops called samurais, lone men whose purpose is to serve their vassal lord with honor. A samurai’s destiny is to spread honor and fame through his swordsmanship. The sword by his side, called a katana, is his lifeline, livelihood and companion.

The mastery of this so called katana takes a lifetime, where one must dedicate his entire soul solely to it. Some say that a master skilled in swordplay can slice off a butterfly’s wing with one flick of the katana, from sheath to slash. Of course, the 21st century has kept us busy from pursuing our personal desires. Though you can’t possibly dedicate your life to the sword, you can own it and feel the samurai spirit flow into you.

The Cold Steel Warrior Series Chisa Katana Sword is made out of carbon steel and underwent the same heat treatment and sharpening process as the other katana swords. The handle wrapped in black braided cord and accented with brass menuki will let you experience the finesse and balance of the blade. The sword itself is over 24 feet long.

Far from its mastery, you are a step closer to feudal Japan. Sure you can never slash a butterfly’s wings, but at least you can be the modern day samurai you always wanted to be with this samurai sword. Just don’t go waving that sharp katana around, because you don’t want to cut a finger or two.

King Arthur and I

Posted by: Dungeon Knight Tags: , ,

excalibur sword12598176984b174ae2ecccc King Arthur and IKing Arthur, a man of many legends, has always been the symbol for the middle ages. Lavish banquets, sophisticated courtesans, damsels in distress, the wondrous round table, bright sparks as steel clashes against steel, fabled black dragons, and who could forget the Knights of the Round Table. Welcome to the middle ages. It is every romanticists favored era (besides the renaissance of course). Who could resist the temptation, the adventure that the middle ages have to offer?

Sadly, the past is the past; the era has come and gone. Don’t be dismayed though, because that is a good thing. Gone are the black plague, the inconvenience of having to churn your own butter, and the nasty transportation that poops every now and then. No matter how romantic the medieval ages are, you can’t deny that you are glad it’s the 21st century.

You can still experience what’s left of that era by purchasing one special medieval sword, Arthur’s famous sword the Excalibur Sword With Scabbard. An excellent classic replica of the legendary sword, you can become the king of England without having to pull the sword out of the stone. Feel the medieval ages as you grasp the fantasy sword in your hands with the sword hilt embossed in fine details and paired with a matching leather scabbard.

This is a collectors must have simply for the purpose of a collection or fantasy swordplay. So embark on your quest, purchase the sword, and be the modern day King Arthur. Religious crusades on the other hand are sold separately.

thumbnail 43%20KR2512598177124b174af061805 Escape from a World of MadnessKit Rae, the world renowned weapons designer and fantasy artist has proven once again that in a world of science and materialism, human beings still find it necessary to cushion their selves with fantasy and metaphysics. Such is what the hype about Kit Rae’s “Mithrodin” Sword is all about.

Since its launch in Dungeon Knight, Kit Rae’s “Mithrodin” Sword has become one of the most sought-after fantasy swords offered on the internet and elsewhere in the world. Most of these are collectors of fantasy swords but some others just found the sword tempting to own.

Kit Rae has often done that to anyone who has seen his art. Every piece seems to compel you to take it home so that you can stare at it for the rest of your life. That’s right, even if in essence, swords are of an artisan work, collectors don’t really consider it as a sword, meaning, they don’t intend to use it. Instead, they are meant to be displayed and look at; to brag about among cliques and feel good about oneself.

That’s the idea behind collecting, after all. Kit Rae has invested his time and skill to cater those who have often find it necessary to just be another person; for more, be in a different realm—a realm that once only existed in Kit Rae’s mind, and now he has shared to many of us.

Buy swords from Dungeon Knight, the leading provider of all these fantasy swords through all these years. Without them, nothing can ensure our sanity in this mad, mad world.
