As Heavy as a Knight

Examples of it could easily be seen in Japan, where samurai men donned full bodied armor during war expansions to protect them from other samurais’ swords. Another excellent example would be Knights. Now when envisioning knights it wouldn’t be complete without their armor. Among the pieces of armor, besides the helmet, the shin guards and the shield, there is a breast like protection called the chain mail like the Hauberk 60 inch Chest Full Sleeve – 36” Long. The chainmail armor is made of a combination of leather fabric and interlocking iron rings. These iron rings are either riveted or welded. Of course as time passed, other materials were added to the chainmail such as iron discs for better protection.

Surely, as a child, you must have tried making a chainmail by yourself? Your mom must have always been clueless as to why her metal laundry hangers keep disappearing. Making your chainmail is possible albeit hard to do. All you’ll need is a simple know how and some pliers. But why strain yourself when you can simply purchase this lovely chainmail. Though it doesn’t use the standard method of riveting, it still delivers an awesome appearance for roleplay. It is not recommended for weapon contact for the very same reason. The chainmail is available in high steel, mild steel and aluminum. So if you’re going for cosplay, then choose the aluminum one for maximum comfort.

It’s not as heavy as the chain mails of the dark ages, but who needs heavy material when a lighter one can achieve the desired look.
